About this template

Guide and sources

One row per tree, or per group of identical trees. Measure the diameter at breast height as your market does: 4.5 ft, from the uphill side, along the lean, below a fork at its narrowest point (NY DEC); 1.3 m in Quebec, from the highest ground at the trunk (OQLF, Longueuil). The sheet adds up the inches of DBH and of stump, the way many tree services price; it never prices.

Check the permit with the city: most Montréal boroughs ask for one from 10 cm, Glenview, Illinois, protects landmark trees from 8 in. Near power lines the utility's rules come first: Hydro-Québec asks anyone not qualified and authorized to keep 3 m from a bare line.

For grinding, type the stump diameter the way you price it and your depth below grade (Vermeer's SC1052 reaches 25 in): the sheet gives the stump volume ground. Type your crew's debris estimate per tree and your truck's load once for the lot: the loads are added up and rounded up once. The client's report shows the trees, their DBH, condition, what is under them, the permit and the stumps; method, depth, debris and loads stay in your team's report.
