About this template
Area by area: the net area, the soil to dig and the compacted base per material, the turf strips with the length and area to order per product, the seams, the nails and staples at your spacings, and the infill with its bags, rounded up once.
Guide and sources
One row per turf area: the length along the rolls and the width across them, with the curves and beds added or taken out. Lay every strip with the grain the same way (Tarkett, RONA EverHome). Type the dig and the compacted base (Beaulieu Canada: at least 10 cm, 4 in; RONA: at least 75 mm, 3 in; Emerald Carpet: 3 to 4 in at 90%) with an allowance for the loose stone (ToolGrit: 15 to 25%); the base adds up per material.
The turf: type the roll width and a cut allowance; the sheet counts the strips across the width, the length and the area to order per product, and the seams between strips. The fasteners: type the edges you fasten and the spacings from your turf maker (they differ: Emerald Carpet nails the edges every 3 to 4 in, Tarkett every 3 to 6 in into lumber or about 12 in with spikes); leave the seam or field spacing empty for a glued seam or an unnailed field.
The infill: type the rate from the turf or infill maker in lb per sq ft (Envirofill: 2.5 to 3.5 for a 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 in landscape pile; Emerald Carpet: 1 to 2) and the bag weight; weight and bags add up per product. Nothing comes filled in. Locate the lines before digging (Info-Excavation, 811) and keep 2 sq ft of remnant for the warranty (Beaulieu Canada). The client's report shows the areas, the base, the turf and the bags; the depths, spacings and rates stay in your team's report.
