About this template

The ground, the walls and the piers the membrane covers, the laps, rolls and tape, vents and equipment as found, moisture, radon and conditions.

Guide and sources

The visit before a crawl space is covered and sealed, on one sheet. The ground: one row per area to cover, its length and width, the height under the joists and what is on the ground now. The walls: one row per foundation wall, its length, its height to the sill and how far up the membrane goes. The piers and posts: their count, size and the height the membrane wraps them. The three add up to the area to cover.

The membrane: type that area, the length of the seams, the lap width, your waste and the roll's coverage from the chosen product; the sheet gives the laps, the membrane to buy, the rolls, the seam tape and the tape rolls. Nothing is pre-filled. The vents, the access, the drains, the ducts and the equipment are recorded as found and as planned; the moisture readings, the radon test and the conditions as reported.

The hints cite the codes without applying them: Canada and Quebec, NBC 2020 Section 9.18 (heated or not, access, vents, ground cover and laps); US, IRC 2021 R408 (vented or unvented, the vapor retarder, access, debris). NRCan's Keeping The Heat In and Stego's StegoCrawl instructions give the practice; Health Canada's and the EPA's guides frame the radon test, as in the basement survey. No price: the sheet is the measure.
